Preferred Customer / Dealer pricing
AMSOIL dealer pricing, explained: Preferred Customer vs Dealer
AMSOIL Preferred Customers and Dealers both buy at AMSOIL wholesale pricing, which AMSOIL puts at about 25 percent below suggested retail. The difference is the program around it: Preferred Customer is $20 a year, or a $10 six-month trial, for your own use. A Dealership is $100 a year and lets you resell, earn commission, and register customers.

Is the dealer price lower than the Preferred Customer price?
No. This is the question I get most. AMSOIL says Preferred Customers purchase AMSOIL products at wholesale cost, which is approximately 25 percent less than suggested retail, and that Dealers buy at wholesale pricing. If all you want is cheaper oil for your own trucks, sleds, and wheelers, a Dealership does not get you a better price than a Preferred Customer membership. It costs more because it is a business registration, not a bigger discount.
Is there an AMSOIL dealer price list?
Not one you will find posted anywhere legitimate. AMSOIL’s Dealer rules say Dealers may not sell, advertise, or post prices of AMSOIL products or memberships online. Prices live on AMSOIL.com: retail for everyone, and member pricing once you sign in as a Preferred Customer or Dealer. If you see a “dealer price list” on a marketplace or forum, it did not come from a Dealer following the rules.
Which one should you pick?
- Buying for your own household’s vehicles and equipment: Preferred Customer.
- Want to try it before committing: the $10 six-month trial, which AMSOIL offers once to new customers.
- Want to sell to neighbors, shops, or fleets, or register other customers: Dealer.
- Already a Preferred Customer and want to start selling: apply as a Dealer; AMSOIL’s terms don’t let you be both.

The Alaska wrinkle: no free shipping, and a 7.5 percent freight surcharge
The free-shipping line in AMSOIL’s Preferred Customer pitch does not reach us. AMSOIL’s shipping policy says free standard ground shipping is “valid only for online/catalog retail orders shipped to a valid address in the United States (excluding Alaska and Hawaii)”. And AMSOIL’s Alaska policy reads: “For all shipments to Alaska add 7.5 percent to the total product cost for extra freight expenses.” AMSOIL figures the Alaska freight when the order ships, not when you place it.
The member discount still applies to the product, and the surcharge is figured on the product total. Details, pickup options, and the shipping pages are on buying AMSOIL in Alaska, or read AMSOIL’s shipping information.

AMSOIL dealer pricing, answered
Is the AMSOIL Dealer price lower than the Preferred Customer price?
Not according to AMSOIL. AMSOIL says Preferred Customers purchase AMSOIL products at wholesale cost, about 25 percent less than suggested retail, and that Dealers buy at wholesale pricing. What a Dealership adds is the right to resell, earn commission, and register customers, not a lower price on your own oil.
Is there an AMSOIL dealer price list PDF?
Not a public one, and not on this site. AMSOIL Dealers may not post prices of AMSOIL products online. Current retail and member prices are on AMSOIL.com: register as a Preferred Customer or Dealer, sign in, and member pricing shows automatically.
Can a Preferred Customer resell AMSOIL?
No. AMSOIL’s Preferred Customer terms say the program is intended for personal use and that resellers are expressly excluded. If you want to sell AMSOIL, that is what a Dealership is for.
Does Preferred Customer auto-renew, and how do I cancel?
Only if you opt in. AMSOIL’s terms say you can choose automatic annual renewal by adding a credit card to your account. You can cancel any time by emailing customerservice@amsoil.com or calling 1-800-777-7094.
Can I switch from Preferred Customer to Dealer later?
Yes. You can apply to become a Dealer whenever you like. AMSOIL’s Preferred Customer terms list Dealers as ineligible for the Preferred Customer program, so you would hold one or the other, not both.
Do Preferred Customers or Dealers get free shipping to Alaska?
No. AMSOIL’s shipping policy says free standard ground shipping is valid only for online/catalog retail orders shipped to a valid address in the United States (excluding Alaska and Hawaii). AMSOIL also says that for all shipments to Alaska, add 7.5 percent to the total product cost for extra freight expenses.
Is the Preferred Customer fee refundable?
Generally no. AMSOIL’s terms say membership fees are not refundable, except that AMSOIL will refund a new or renewal fee within 30 days if you did not use the membership to get a discount or benefit. The Dealer fee works differently: return the complete Dealer Starter Kit in resalable condition within 30 days and AMSOIL refunds the registration fee in full.
